1913 - 1973. The Junior Mixed and Infants' departments opened on 8 Aug 1913, with accommodation for 400 pupils.
Extracts from log books:
3 July 1918: School re-opened this morning after a month's closure for Measles epidemic and Whitsuntide.
21 Jan 1941: First alert during school hours today from 3.25-3.55. Children were in shelters immediately and only two mothers new to the district came to ask for their children.
1 Oct 1942: Received notice school will not remain open during potato holiday Oct 2-Oct 25.
1973: Obituary to Miss Cranitch, a former headmistress of the school.
Bartholomew Middle School
Goole Senior School opened 5 Apr 1937 with separate Girls' and Boys' departments. Became Goole Modern from 1939 to 1944 and County Secondary in 1944. On 12 Apr 1961 the school became a mixed Secondary Modern. From 1970 the school was known as Goole High School, until 1976 when it became Bartholomew Middle School.
The school closed in July 1990.
